Disgusting Domino’s person: Patrick Doyle

Patrick Doyle is the president of Domino’s USA, he’s clearly in the wrong job he should be a comedian this apology makes me laugh.

Microsoft xbox 360: Doesn’t read disks!

Lots of people know about the well documented xbox 360 “red ring of death‘ error. Microsoft extended the warranty for those customers so that they can send their console back and receive a nice fixed one for FREE. But what about those of use who have consoles that just repeatedly refuse to read disks?!

I’m sure there are lots of us who have seen this just as we complete that stupidly long and difficult level:

Surely Microsoft should extend their warranty to cover this issue? Lets find out, here is a copy of the complaint I sent to their customer services department:

What can I do about disc read errors?!

My console constantly gives disk read errors to the extent where I can’t play it anymore. A few months ago I decided it was time to just move on but there are loads of things I would love to play on my xbox 360 and I miss xbox live. I’ve had my console since December 2006 and I assume it is not covered by any warranty? I tried taking it back when it first started (December 2007) but Gamestation would not take it back, ever since then it has got worse to the now unplayable state it is in.

Is there anything that can be done? It’s just a shame that it’s now tucked away doing nothing, when I would really like to be using it!

Gamestation: The Response

You may have read my previous gamestation posts, the ‘Gamestation are liars’ here and ‘The complaint’ here. Well it seems that Gamestation do actually “care” about their customers..

After a few E-mails from customer service confirming my details and what exactly was said in the store I got a phone call from a Gamestation area manager. I have been informed that this should not happen again and that they are going to implement training to ensure that all staff are aware of Gamestations policies.

After a few slightly personal questions about how often I buy games and how often I trade them in I was told that because of my inconvenience that they would send me a £10.00 gift certificate but that this wasn’t just to fob my complaint off and that the issue would be dealt with.

So all in all I was quite satisfied with the outcome, the only problem was that when I went to try and spend this £10.00 gift voucher I also took a game to trade in and yet again was told they would not price match! I had to stand there and argue that the reason I had a gift certificate was due to the fact that they don’t keep to their policies and that I had been informed by their area manager that they would price match.

British Telecom DON’T care about your data or data protection: Customer Service FAILED

If you want to get the internet and don’t want mobile broadband you are stuck with either getting cable or a landline. If you are not in a cable area you are pretty much stuck with requiring a landline. And if you have never had a landline you are pretty much stuck with British Telecom as they need to activate your line and tie you into a 12 month contract..

Where are the Monoply commission when you need them?

Anyway, once you realise that BT are your only option, you have to bite the bullet ring them up and get forced willingly hand over £124.99 to ‘connect’ your line and sign up to a 12 month contract with monthly line rental fees.

If that wasnt bad enough, BT pay no attention when you tell them that you want to be kept ex directory. Yes that’s right if you inform BT you want to be ex directory they pay no attention at all. Imagine my surprise when a month after my phone line has been ‘activated’ I start getting marketing phone calls on an almost daily basis and even worse (debatably) people who I know start ringing me up, whom I have not given my phone number too. I immediately thought that this was odd so I headed over to BT’s online directory service which is available here I type in my name and what pops up? My phone number, full name,  and address!

I immediately rang BT (which unfortuanetly) resulted in me ringing numerous times as I was left on hold, incorrectly transferred and when I finally spoke to someone hung up on. Anyway when I did get to speak to someone I told them about the phone calls and read one of the marketing numbers to them and they informed me that I shoul under no circumstance ring that number back as I would get even more phone calls! I then asked how they could possibly have got my phone number as I had asked to be ex directory, “oh well your not ex directory but we can make you ex directory now”..

I didn’t want to give the poor lady on the phone a hard time as I was already annoyed anyway due to the infuriating wait to actually get to speak to someone, so after I hung up I started writing an email to customer services. I’ll keep you posted on what it said and the response I got back..

I was really looking forward to a delicious handful of Tutti Frutti’s so you can imagine how dissapointed I was when I inserted my coin, turned the wheel and NOTHING happened.

There have not been many updates recently as I’ve been spending most of my time on a side project www.getfreethings.co.uk. I’m happy to say that this should hopefully change as I’m going to devote my ‘geek’ time towards keep my custom. So stay tuned for hopefully regular updates..
